- Cook as composer (when he or she creates a new dish)
- Cook as performer (when he or she interprets a recipe)
- Cook as conductor, playing with diverse tastes and flavors
- Recipe as score
- Eating and listening music are non-verbal experiences
- The pleasure of eating and of listening to the music exists only when it is ate or performed
- It cannot be repeated
- Both are a shared experiences:
- between cook and diner
- between composer/performer and listener
- Both involve emotions: happiness, fear, anger, sadness, love, etc.
